Juventus set to swoop for Villarreal's Giuseppe Rossi in €30m deal after move for Sergio Aguero breaks down(Goal.com)

Juventus have shifted their transfer focus onto Giuseppe Rossi as their priority signing this summer after talks for Atletico Madrid's Sergio Aguero broke down, Goal.com understands.

The Turin-based side had hoped to complete a deal for the Argentina forward but have now turned their attentions to the Villarreal man after failing to meet Aguero's asking price.

"Rossi is now the priority after the Aguero talks stalled," a Juventus source told Goal.com.

"They offered €35m, but the Spanish were holding out for €45 million, and so they couldn't convince them as Atletico did not want to lower the fee after speaking with [Juventus sporting director Giuseppe] Marotta."

The Atletico striker was one of a number of players on new coach Antonio Conte's list of possible reinforcements for this summer, which also included Udinese's Barcelona-bound Chile forward Alexis Sanchez.

Goal.com has learned that Juve agreed a deal with the Argentina international but talks collapsed with Atletico over the fee. The Spanish side had made it clear they were only willing to sell their man for the designated buy-out clause, which Juve were unwilling to meet.

"Juventus had convinced Aguero with an offer of €7.5m in wages, but they were not able to convince Atletico," the source disclosed.

"Given that Atletico are not willing to give any discounts on the €45m clause, Juventus are now focused on Rossi."

Villarreal have already announced they are willing to listen to offers for their star striker. Goal.com also understands the forward would be willing to move back to Serie A in order to safeguard his place with Italy for Euro 2012.

"Juventus have now shifted the focus onto Rossi. He is still relatively a young player, and Juventus have an excellent relationship with his agent Federico Pastorello," Goal.com's source explained.

"Pastorello and Marotta are very good friends and they have worked closely in the past, so this favours Rossi.

"Juventus are willing to offer Villarreal up to €30m for Rossi and they are ready to pay him around €6m per annum in wages."

Rossi is believed to be earning around €2m per annum at Villarreal, where he is under contract until 2016.

ジュゼッペ・マロッタはアトレティコ・マドリーに対し、３５００万ユーロのオファーをかけていたが、アトレティコ・マドリー側は４５００万ユーロから一歩も譲らず、選手のトレードも認めなかった。アグエロにも７５０万ユーロというユベントスとしては破格の年俸を示したのだが、クラブ間合意に至らなかった。一方でユベントスのチアゴ・メンデスはアトレティコ・マドリーにローン延長され、来年６月末には契約切れとなる。

コンテのリクエストはアグエロとウディネーゼのアレクシス・サンチェスだったが、アグエロは高すぎ、サンチェスはバルセロナ確実とどちらも手に入らない結果となった。

一方、ビジャレアルはロッシに関してオファーを聞く姿勢を認めている。ユーロ２０１２を迎えるにあたって自国でプレーしたいロッシの意向も反映したものと見られている。

マロッタはロッシに対し、３０００万ユーロのオファーを出し、本人には６００万ユーロの年俸を示している。足りない分はフェリペ・メロをトレード要員とすることでまかなうことを狙っており、こちらは限りなく成立に近づいていると言える。

４８時間以内に成立と見るメディアがある一方で、まったく報道していないイタリアのメディアもあり、移籍の話は成立してみないとわからないと言えそうだ。
