New Parma Signing Sebastian Giovinco Determined To Prove His Worth(Goal.com)

New Parma signing Sebastian Giovinco admits he is eager and determined to do well for the Gialloblu.

The 23-year-old wants to put behind him the "horrible" season he had at Juventus and prove his worth. Giovinco joins the Crociati on a season-long loan deal, with the option to purchase half his playing contract and enter a co-ownership deal with the Bianconeri.

"I arrive at the club with the right spirit and professionalism that I have always had," 'La Formica Atomica' told Ansa. "I am happy to be at this club and this society, seeing the horrible year that I had at Juve.

"I want to demonstrate my worth to the side.

"At Empoli [whilst on loan in 2007/08], I did well enough to get my name known my many people. But I must admit that during my first season in Turin, I did not do too badly.

"I played enough games to show what I could do.

Parma director Pietro Leonardi welcomed the Under-21 international with glowing praise, hoping that he can be the finishing touch to an already-strong side.

"I am convinced that Giovinco represents the cherry on top of the cake that our fans were constantly asking us for," Leonardi affirmed. "He was highly sought after by the president, who wanted to bring a quality player to the side, and he is of first-class.

"He has now arrived at Parma, and has the possibility to play here. Just like every player, he dreams of receiving a call-up for the National team," Leonardi summed up.
