Former Juventus director Luciano Moggi claims that all the club need to do in January is buy some new defenders, instead of focusing on their attacking limitations.
Moggi, who is currently being tried in connection with the 2006 Calciopoli scandal, is an unpopular figure at the club now, but remains loyal to the side he spent 12 years at.
The Bianconeri have conceded seven goals in their last two games in Serie A, and have brought in striker Luca Toni, while also being linked with a host of big name attackers. However, Moggi believes that the club need to concentrate on plugging the gaps in their defence.
"The Juventus that I know cannot lose 4-1 to a team like Parma and then lose 3-0 to Napoli after only four days,'' Moggi told Gold TV. "I don't understand why you keep talking about reinforcements in attack. Above all, Juve need defenders.
"I didn't understand Gigi Del Neri's decision to start with Armand Traore who was totally inadequate. The player should have been substituted earlier. And to think that they protested against Ciro Ferrara. Last year Juve had more points at the end of the first half of the season than they do now under Del Neri.
"A revolution wasn't necessary. Instead of buying 12 or 13 average players, we needed three or four champions and that's it."
