JUVENTUS are ready to test Arsenal’s resolve with a whopping £20million bid for striker Robin van Persie.

Manager Luigi Delneri has set his sights on landing the Dutch striker (below) as he looks to bring in new attacking options.

The Turin side will look to offer straight cash – but may also be willing to throw long-term Arsenal target Felipe Melo into the deal if needed.

Van Persie, 27, has spent large chunks of the last three seasons out with injuries – and boss Arsene Wenger has had to be thankful for the start shown by summer signing Marouane Chamakh this season.

The Dutchman himself may also be tempted by a new challenge, especially if the north London club does not manage to end its silverware drought this season.

Van Persie has won just one FA Cup-winner’s medal in his six-and-a-half years at the club.

Delneri is looking for a long-term replacement for Juve legend Alessandro Del Piero – who is now 36.

The club’s other attacking options, Amauri and Vincenzo Iaquinta, are 30 and 31 respectively – leaving the club having to depend on loan signing Fabio Quagliarella, 27.

Wenger has been trailing defensive midfielder Melo, 27, for two years – even though the player chose Juventus ahead of the Gunners when he left Fiorentina in June 2009.

夏の獲得といわれていたはずだが、冬になるのだろうか。
