プランデッリはトッティとデル・ピエロに大いなる敬意を示す！！

Prandelli leaves Italy door open to Roma's Totti, Juventus captain Del Piero(Tribalfootball)

Italy coach Cesare Prandelli says AS Roma attacker Francesco Totti and Juventus veteran Alessandro del Piero are both in the frame for the Euros.

Prandelli hasn't called on either player this season.

But he says: “When it comes to dealing with Totti and Del Piero, it requires great respect.

“Will they be called up for Euro 2012? It is best not to say things like that, but they have certainly given a great deal to Italian football and I am convinced they have much to give.

“The evaluations I will make when choosing a squad will not only be regarding their birth certificates.”

イタリア代表監督のチェザーレ・プランデッリはローマのフランチェスコ・トッティ、ユベントスのアレッサンドロ・デル・ピエロにもユーロ２０１２のドアは開かれているとコメントしている。

プランデッリはふたりを招集していないが、トッティとデル・ピエロについて話すときには、大きな敬意を払わなければならにねと答えており、ユーロ２０１２について、そんな話はまだしないほうがいいだろう。彼らはイタリアに貢献してきたし、呼べば大きなものをもたらしてくれるであろうと続けている。

ただ、招集メンバーを決めるのはプランデッリであり、怪我で離脱のジュゼッペ・ロッシや心臓疾患から立ち直りつつあるカッサーノが間に合わなかったときの次善の策ではありそう。バロテッリは呼ばれる可能性が低く、トッティやデル・ピエロは招集されたとしてもベンチでチームを鼓舞する役目ではないかと思われる。

彼らに一花の気持ちはあるけれども、やはり大事な枠を使うなら若手の経験がいいわけだしね。
