マロッタは主審への不満を露わに、コンテはシエナを賞賛！！

Systems, tactics, individual and group performances are certainly important topics, but just an event is enough to make all these words vain, because that single event can determine the development of a game. In Juventus v Siena, that event occurred, right five minutes before the final whistle: Chiellini crossed from the left and Vergassola carried out a real ‘volleyball block’, with his arm extended and far from his body in order to stop the ball. A clear penalty, but referee Peruzzo didn’t detect it, despite of his good viewing position. Inevitably, at the end of the match, the Managing Director Giuseppe Marotta pointed out his disappointment, shared by the whole club: “We can’t speak only about mistakes in front of the goal and tactical circumstances, if then we overlook this kind of events. Today, we’ve been penalized due to a clear penalty which hasn’t been given, and if you notice we’re leading the table with just a penalty in our favour over 21 games. Traditionally, experienced officials are called to referee top table sides, usually also having international experience. A young referee can also feel himself psychologically conditioned when, some minutes before the final whistle, a penalty must be detected, even if it’s absolutely clear, because he can influence the result. We greatly respect the referee organization, but expressing our assessments is fair, as the game official is a fundamental element in every match. Therefore, we ask for more respect for Juventus.”

ユベントスのＧＭジュゼッペ・マロッタはシエナ戦の終盤、キエッリーニのクロスをヴェルガッソーラが手ではたき落としてブロックしたことについて、「明らかなペナルティだった」として、ハンドを見落としたペルッツォ主審の判定に不満を漏らしている。マロッタは首位にいるチームの試合は経験豊富な主審が割り当てられるのが普通で、ペルッツォはあまりにも若く経験がなかった。あまりにもフェアではないとして、主審に敬意を持つといいながらも、ユベントスにももっと敬意を示してほしいと主張している。

ユベントスは昨シーズン、不可抗力のハンドの判定で二度もペナルティを奪われており、当時と同じジャッジをするならユベントスにペナルティが与えられていた。まあ、ペナルティがあったとしてもゴールが決まったかどうかはわからないが、ジャッジが不公平なのは事実だ。というよりも、最近はジャッジに不満を漏らすクラブが多いね。やっぱり審判は５人にすべきだと思う。３人で裁くには今のサッカーはスピードアップしすぎているからね。

Antonio Conte sought to credit Siena after his former employers emerged from Turin with a hard-fought point. The Tuscan outfit showed plenty of heart and spirit to keep the Bianconeri at bay and give their survival hopes a vital boost.

Following the final whistle, Conte expressed admiration for the visitors’ display: “I can only congratulate Siena on how they approached this game. We gave our all but it wasn’t enough. We weren’t able to keep to a high tempo and find space to attack. Vergassola’s handball? I think that the images speak for themselves and, as I’ve done on previous occasions, I’d prefer not to say anything. It’s certainly a shame because - having seen the other results - it was a good situation to capitalise on and we weren’t able to do so. We’ll continue to take things on a game by game basis - just as we’ve done since the start of the season.”

シエナ戦のあとでアントニオ・コンテ監督は「シエナはよくやったね。我々はハイテンポでスペースを見つけ攻撃したけれども彼らのゴールをこじあけることができなかった。ベルガッソーラのハンド？　それは映像が残っているよね。絶好の好機ではあったけどね。何も言うことはないよ。他の結果に左右されるのはなんともね。とはいえ、我々は上手くやっている。十分ではなかったけれども、このやり方をずっと続けていく必要があるだろうね」と述べている。
