Guus Hiddink To Become New Coach Of Juventus On January 2 - Report(Goal.com)

Ciro Ferrara's reign as Juventus coach could come to an abrupt and premature end by January as Guus Hiddink prepares for an arrival at Vinovo.

According to Il Corriere Dello Sport, the return of Roberto Bettega at the club has paved the way for Hiddink to come in and replace the underfire Ferrara.

The report suggests Bettega has already opened up dialogue with Hiddink and the two men have reached a consensus so he can join the club officially on January 2 - when the Italian transfer market re-opens for business.

It means Hiddink's first game in charge will be against Parma on January 6, before he welcomes Milan to the Stadio Olimpico four days later.

The vice general director has been hard at work trying to understand where Juve have been going wrong, and he has designed a number of action plans that he hopes will cure the problem.

Despite the report, Juventus have always confirmed their faith in Ciro Ferrara, even denying they were in contact with Hiddink last week.

But Bettega's arrival appears to have resparked the speculation surrounding the Italian's future.

TORINO, 29 dicembre - Bettega non ha confermato Ferrara. Semmai ha preso tempo dicendo di voler capire bene la situazione, cosa che presumibilmente farà a partire da oggi quando, al seguito della squadra, volerà a Jeddah dove la Juve sarà impegnata domani in amichevole. Il “disimpegno” di Bettega su Ferrara ha dato invece corpo e sostanza alle voci in arrivo da Amsterdam secondo le quali Guus Hiddink avrebbe già raggiunto un accordo di massima con Bettega per trasferirsi a Torino nei primi di gennaio. Se le notizie olandesi sono vere, Ferrara non avrebbe neppure la possibilità di giocarsi la panchina il 6 gennaio a Parma e il 10 gennaio all’Olimpico contro il Milan.

ANALISI - Bettega è stato presentato ieri, ma già da una decina di giorni sta lavorando su tutti i fronti per cercare di capire come, dove, quando intervenire. La questione tecnica ovviamente è stata messa in primo piano dalla società perchè perdere altri punti in classifica significherebbe non solo mettere a rischio il terzo posto, ma anche il quarto e di conseguenza la qualificazione alla prossima edizione della Champions League. Bettega ha fatto un’analisi spietata individuando nella situazione generale più di un “punto dolente”, ma la questione tecnica non può essere slegata da quanto era stato deciso mesi fa: Ferrara allenatore subito con Marcello Lippi dirigente responsabile dell’area sportiva a partire da luglio. In pratica il ct azzurro dovrebbe arrivare dopo il mondiale per fare quello che fa adesso Bettega in ufficio ma anche per “dare un’occhiata” e qualche consiglio al fido Ferrara. L’eventuale arrivo di Hiddink rimette in discussione tutto quanto e sembra che la Juve adesso sia disposta a farlo anche se fonti bene informate all’interno del club bianconero assicurano che l’arrivo di Lippi a luglio come dirigente non sarebbe in discussione.
