Report: Juventus To Name Luigi Delneri As Boss Next Week(Goal.com)

Luigi Delneri is set to quit Sampdoria to become the new Juventus coach, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper.

The Bianconeri hierarchy have allegedly plumped for the 59-year-old to replace Alberto Zaccheroni after talks with Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez collapsed.

Delneri has yet to sign on the dotted line but is said to have already agreed a two-year deal worth €1.5 million per season.

The decision is expected to be made official after the final game of the Serie A season to avoid unsettling the Blucerchiati’s bid for a Champions League spot.

An official announcement will presumably be released next Wednesday when Andrea Agnelli is sworn in as the new Juve President.

Delneri is to reunite with Samp chief executive Giuseppe Marotta in Turin as the latter has already signed on to become Juve's new director general.
