Guarin: 'Only Juventus'(Football Italia)

Porto star Fredy Guarin has declared he will “either continue playing at Porto or join Juventus” by Thursday, slamming the door on Inter.

The 25-year-old Colombian has been on Juve’s wish-list for a while, but it was also reported that the Nerazzurri were making a surprise intervention.

“It will all be decided between now and Thursday,” Guarin told Colombian Radio Catena Nacional.

“Either I continue playing with Porto or I will leave. If I do go, then I will leave only to join Juventus.”

It’s believed Porto want €13m for the player, whereas Juve would like to pay €2m for a six-month loan with mandatory €9m buy-out clause.

The push for Guarin comes as their attempts to sign Martin Caceres hit problems and might even have been abandoned completely.

Juventus have room for only one more non-EU player in their squad, but both Caceres and Guarin have a non-EU status.

TORINO - Obiettivo centrocampo. Il mercato invernale della Juve si concentra sulla mediana: Beppe Marotta punta ad assicurare ad Antonio Conte un'arma in più nel settore che, con il trio Pirlo-Vidal-Marchisio, rappresenta già la chiave della squadra che vola imbattuta in testa alla classifica. Di nomi e ipotesi ne sono stati fatti tanti: da Pizarro a Palombo, da Kuzmanovic a Nainggolan, da Guarin a Behrami. E proprio su questi ultimi due si stanno incentrando le ultime manovre: entrambi infatti hanno caratteristiche da interno simili a quelle di Marchisio e Vidal. Behrami è stato chiesto alla Fiorentina durante il contatto per Amauri: Marotta ha proposto in cambio sia Krasic sia Pazienza, ma niente da fare perchè la società viola non intende privarsi dello svizzero. Niente da fare almeno per ora, comunque, perchè non è escluso nei prossimi giorni un ulteriore tentativo.

GUARIN NON CONVOCATO - Dal Portogallo, intanto, rimbalza la notizia che Guarin non è stato convocato per la gara di campionato di domani sera del Porto pur non avendo problemi fisici, come conferma il quotidiano 'A Bolà. Si tratterebbe quindi di un ulteriore indizio sulla rottura tra il giocatore e il club di Oporto, che potrebbe dare il via all'accelerazione decisiva da parte della Juve (11 milioni l'offerta bianconera rispetto ai 13 richiesti). Accelerazione che potrebbe arrivare anche in virtù del fatto che l'operazione collegata a quella di Guarin, cioè la trattativa per Caceres, non si sblocca. Entrambi sono extracomunitari e la Juve ha un solo posto libero ma per il difensore uruguaiano resta da limare la differenza tra gli 8 milioni offerti da Marotta e gli 11 milioni richiesti dal Siviglia per il prestito e l'obbligo di riscatto. Il lavoro di mediazione dell'avvocato Beppe Bozzo, rappresentante italiano del giocatore, continua.

LE CESSIONI - Capitolo cessioni. Non si sblocca la situazione Amauri che resta sempre nell'orbita Fiorentina. L'agente dell'attaccante, Giampiero Pocetta conferma a violanews.com: "Non ci sono ulteriori novità nelle ultime ore, siamo allo stesso punto di qualche giorno fa. Non vedo passi in avanti, insomma". Raffreddatasi la pista Milan, il club viola resta comunque in pole position. Grosso e il Lecce sembrano vicini, mentre per Toni l'ostacolo maggiore nelle trattative è rappresentato dall'ingaggio. Siena, Bologna, Cesena e Cagliari non possono permetterselo, per lui si apre una possibilità nella serie B francese al Monaco.

The agent of Porto midfielder Fredy Guarin admits he has held informal discussions with Juventus regarding a switch to Italy.

Juve are expected to be busy during the January transfer window, with the club keen to bring in fresh faces to help them in their efforts to reclaim the Serie A title.

Guarin is among those on their radar, with the Colombia international considered to be a useful addition.

No contact has been made as yet with Porto, but Juve have sounded out the possibility of a move with the 25-year-old's representative.

"With the Bianconeri there are the beginnings of negotiations, but nothing official," Marcelo Ferreyra told calciomercato.com.

"We are still at the stage of information exchange.

"At the moment their officials have only talked with us and not with Porto.

"Other requests? At the moment Fredy is only wanted in Italy. It is still difficult to say whether he will leave in January.

"A valuation of €11million (£9.1m)? That could be right, but that is a matter for the two clubs to discuss."
