FIGC president wanted Inter to relinquish 2006 Serie A title following legal loophole(Goal.com)

FIGC (Italian FA) president Giancarlo Abete believes Inter should hand back the 2006 Calciopoli title on the basis of ethics.

The FA decided on Monday there were no legal grounds to revoke the title from Inter because of a statute of limitations preventing them from doing so.

Evidence from the 'Calciopoli 2' trial at the tribunal of Naples has reportedly shown Inter were in contact with referees and designators at the time of the scandal.

Yet, because of the statute of limitations, the Italian FA were unable to find a way of stripping Inter of the title, meaning Inter hold on to the 2006 Scudetto in the history books.

"I hoped that Inter would’ve foregone the statute of limitations in this case," Abete told the press as reported by Ansa.

"There is no statute of limitations on ethics.

"We had to stick to the rules. If the rules do not satisfy some, then that is out of our hands."

Some reports have suggested Juventus may appeal further to Coni, the Italian Olympic Committee.

審査会ではひとりの反対、ふたりの棄権で、インテルからスクデットを剥奪する法的根拠はなく、規律委員会が決めたことにイタリアサッカー連盟が口出しする権利はないとして、スクデットはそのままにすることを決定している。

このことについて、アバーテは「インテルは倫理的問題から考えて自主的にスクデットを返却するべきだ」とみずからの考えを述べている。

アバーテはナポリ検察の捜査でインテルの関与がはっきりした際に、「インテルにスクデットを与えたのは間違いだった」と発言しており、スクデット問題がインテルに落ち着いたことに不満を持っていることを明らかにしている。

ユベントスはこの決定を不服としてイタリア五輪委員会に上訴するとしており、まだまだスクデット問題は続きそうだ。

とはいえ、強欲なモラッティが自主的に返納するとは思えず、まあ、乞食のように与えられたスクデットで喜べるならそんなのはくれてやるって感じだね。

現実的にはスクデットは２年連続で空位でいいと思うけれど。それをよく思わない薄バカどもはいっぱいいるんだね。

FIGC president Giancarlo Abete has told Juventus it will take time to know whether they have any chance of getting their revoked Scudetti back.

President Andrea Agnelli is eager to discover what hopes the club have of having the 2004-05 and 2005-06 titles restored.

The FIGC received a file from Juventus based on evidence at the court of Naples where a penal trial into Calciopoli 2 is ongoing.

They confirmed they will be looking into the evidence from the court which has shown a number of clubs including Inter had contact with referees and designators.

But Abete was eager to airbrush hopes out of the picture, leaving the legal investigative panel of the FIGC to do its work.

"There is no response from the federation at the moment to Agnelli's request of having the Scudetti handed back. There is a legal process in course, the sports process follows that," he told the press.

"The FIGC respects the federal office and will do so with its conclusions.

"Our position on this is known ever since we received the file from Juventus. Stefano Palazzi [the investigator] has acquired evidence from Naples and he is working on it. We have to wait for the conclusions."

インテルのマッシモ・モラッティはスクデットはインテルのものだと主張しているが、ナポリ検察の熱心な捜査でインテルが不正に審判に接触していたことは明らかになりつつある。ユベントスのスクデットが失効ならインテルにも資格がないわけで、クリーンだと言い張っただけ嘘つきのインテルはたちが悪い。

ただ、アバーテは「連盟としてはまだ回答がない」として、「捜査結果により、法的にきちんと判断する」としている。

現在もカルチョポリは捜査中であり、その結果によってはユベントスが主張している公平な処分が再び行われることになる。４年も経って新しい証拠がぞろぞろと出てくるというのはどういうことだろうと思うけれども。

ビッグクラブであっても臆することなく処分するところは、日本のプロ野球にも見習ってほしいけれどね。
